Rio De Janeiro is in Brazil and Brazil is a South American country. Its shorter name is Rio and situated in the southeast region in America with very close to the tropic of Capricorn.  It is a very huge and seaside city.  Rio De Janeiro is the second-most populous city in Brazil and the sixth populous city in America as well as the capital of the state of Rio De Janeiro. This state is the third most populous state after the cities of Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais.  On 1st of July 2012, UNESCO has designated the part of Rio De Janeiro as a World Heritage Site. Rio De Janeiro, BrazilRio has founded on the 01st of March 1565 by the Portuguese and the first name was Saint Sebastian. The total population in Rio is 6.8 million and the area is 1221km x km. In 2008 the second-largest municipality was in Rio De Janeiro and it was the 30th largest in the world. Rio is known for its sprawling favelas ( shanty towns) and having the world’s largest raucous Carnival festivals, featuring parade floats, flamboyant costumes, and samba dancers.

Rio is famous for its natural beauties such as Carnival, Rio De Janeiro, BrazilSamba, Bossa Nova, and Balneario beaches. These beaches are Barra Da Tijuca, Copacabana, Ipanema and Lebion. There are some most famous landmarks that can be seen in Rio De Janeiro, namely the Giant statue of Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado mountain which is the seven wonders of the world, Sugarloaf Mountain with cable car, The Sambadrome, Grandstand lined parade avenue and Maracana stadium. Rio was hosted some of the world-famous sports such as the Summer Olympics in 2016, Summer Paralympics in 2016, The finals of the FIFA World cups in 1950 and 2014, the FIFA Confederations cup in 2013, and XV Pan American Games.

Rio has a harbor known as Guanabara Bay and recognized as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. And it is surrounded by tall mountains but ships can easily accessible. The official language in Rio De Janeiro is Portuguese. The currency used in Rio is real and American Dollars also be in use. Safe wise Rio De Janeiro is not the safest city and its crime rate is very high. According to the Overseas Security Advisory Council, violent crime is a frequent occurrence. Also, bag snatching and pickpocketing are normally happening at any time in this city.

There is a dress code where people have to strictly adhere to visit churches and government buildings in Rio De Janeiro. Women have to avoid flip flops, tank tops, miniskirts, and shorts and men have to wear only business attire. There are some rude signs also indicate some meanings in Rio such as OK sign is considered as very rude and vulgar, thumbs up means used for approval, wiping hand together means it doesn’t matter, clicking the tongue and shaking the head means disagreement or disapproval. Rio’s famous sport is football and It has hosted some international sports events as well.

According to the Koppen climate classification, Rio has a tropical savanna climate. The temperature varies from 65F to 88F throughout the year and rarely goes down to 61F  and above 95F. Rios summers are short, hot oppressive, wet and mostly cloudy and winters are long, comfortable, humid, and mostly clear. The hottest month in Rio is January and also the wettest with a rainfall of 170mm. The coldest month is June and it is having a comfortable temperature of 19F. There is a rainy season between December to March and a dry season between May to October. Therefore, the best time to visit Rio is between December and March to enjoy the warm and sunny weather even on the beaches.

Rio De Janeiro is a famous tourist destination in the world. It has its own assets like soaring mountains, sugarloaf towering above the harbor, long crescent beaches, and a landscape with distinguished buildings. Absolutely if many tourists arrive in Rio, they fall in love with the city because of its beauty and worth visiting places. The visitor can wish the breathtaking views, interesting background, iconic beaches, rich culture, and fine cuisine. The Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado mountain is the world-famous were situated in Rio De Janeiro. The incredible monument and Corcovado’s railway also can be seen there as well. There are some major airlines that fly to Rio De Janeiro Airport namely, Qatar Airways, Sri Lankan Airlines with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Emirates, etc.  From the United States of America fly some airlines to Rio such as American Airlines and United Airlines.
