Pamukkale was situated in western Turkey and it is a very famous town for the mineral-rich thermal waters flowing through white travertine terraces on a close-by hillside. It is also in Denizil province, Turkey. The total area of it is 1077ha, and swimming is possible in these thermal pools. Pamukkale site was originally used as a Roman Spa. Pamukkale meaning in Turkish is “cotton castle”. The Pamukkale area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the following thermal spring water. Due to the attraction of the thermal pools, people have visited the area for thousands of years.  The neighbor of Pamukkale is Hierapolis an ancient Roman spa city founded around 190 B.C. There are some ruins that can be seen include a well-preserved theatre and a necropolis with sarcophagi that stretch for 2 kilometers away.

Pamukkale is a place worth visiting because it has the most spectacular natural landscapes in the world and is one of the most popular destinations in Turkey. There are over 2 million visitors each year who visit here. In 1988, it was listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO. From April to June, has the spring season and the best time to visit it during that period. But in the summertime, it is unbearably hot and in wintertime, there will be snowfall.  The Autumn time is between September to October and can visit Pamukkale, but the days are shorter and there is more chance of rain. Pamukkale is white because, Pamukkale and the ancient Roman city of Hierapolis lies a vast source of water heated by volcanic lava and cooling in the open air, the calcium precipitates from the water, adheres to the soil, and forms white calcium “ cascades” frozen in stone called travertines. Pamukkale is the 8th wonder of the world in the home natural world. It has the largest and finest example of elaborate calcium formation in the world. According to Turkey’s ancient tradition, the waters contain natural healing powers.

The thermal pools and the archeological site of the Romany town of Hierapolis are open 24 hours a day as well as 7 days a week. Pamukkale was formed in a very strange way. That is how a spring with a high content of dissolved calcium bicarbonate cascaded over the edge of the cliff, which cooled and hardened leaving calcium deposits and then formed into natural pools, shelves, and ridges, where tourists could plunge and splash in the warm water.

Pamukkale city has two sister cities namely, Eger in Hungary and Las Vegas in the United States of America. Pamukkale is legally protected through national conservation legislation according to UNESCO, but there is no specific planning legislation to protect World Heritage properties.

Pamukkale is a famous tourist destination in the world and a World Heritage Site. Also, it is a tourist attraction place due to its status and natural beauty. It is attracting over 2 million visitors per year. There are some top-rated tourist attractions and Some of them are Travertines, Hierapolis City Ruins, Hierapolis Theater, Pamukkale, Turkey Antique Pool, Hierapolis Museum, Pamukkale Castle, Laodikeia, etc. Visitors can swim in the thermal pools will be another attraction in Pamukkale also, it is easy to access. There are some buses and trains available from Istanbul to Pamukkale. It will take only 2 and half hours to drive. The entrance fee is also very cheap and around 9 USD per adult and per child. There are some hotels available from 3 stars to luxuries suites near Pamukkale where the visitor can afford the accommodation costs. In apart from that there are some additional benefits to tourists such as a unique holiday experience, delicious food, historical places to visit, Turkish hospitality, and to visit other tourist destinations.

Weather

Pamukkale has summers with hot, dry, and clear and winters with cold, wet, and partly cloudy. The temperature varies between 36F to 96F and rarely goes down to 27F or above 102F. Avoid the wintertime in Pamukkale to swim in the pools, but can swim at any time of the day is perfect to dip in the healing waters. On other days of the year, the water of the pool is shallow which makes it perfect for kids to swim too. Pamukkale has the springtime from April to mid-June where the weather is perfect to swim in the pools. Summers are unbearably hot and winters are having snowfalls. Autumn time is from mid-September to October also good for swimming but, can expect some rainfalls.

There are some hotels available in Pamukkale and categorized as best hotels, nice view hotels, good for families, good for couples, etc. The average 3-star hotel cost will be 50 USD per night, 4-star hotel will be 62 USD per night, and 5- star hotel will Pamukkale, Turkeybe 111 USD per night.
